Which women inspire you the most?
Malala Yousafzai is a woman that inspires me. Her story is admirable, she has overcome such terror and has used the platform her story has created to advocate for women and girls’ educational rights. I agree with everything this woman stands for, integrity, bravery, justice, and inclusion.
Malala’s courage and commitment to speak out and stand up for her beliefs is commendable and I am in awe of the work she has done with the Malala Fund in championing girls rights to a free, safe and quality education, working towards the goal of creating a more equal world.
This year’s IWD theme is #EmbraceEquity, what does this mean to you?
Regardless of gender, religion or socioeconomic status, every individual should be given the right to have equal opportunities in any sphere – may that be in education, vocation, or social welfare.
Embracing equity means we must recognise that not all individuals have the same foundations, and we must ensure that specific resources are provided to those that require it to provide the opportunities for those individuals to achieve the same outcome.
