Barristers encouraged to participate in survey

Barristers are being encouraged to undertake an online survey by the Legal Services Board (LSB) into the cost of regulation and how regulation impacts on lawyers, law firms and the profession.

The LSB is currently investigating the cost of regulation in the legal sector and want to hear how regulation affects barristers and their businesses. The aim of the survey is to help identify unnecessary burdens that could potentially be removed.

The LSB say that barristers’ views are an extremely important element in the investigation.

The survey is open to all members of the legal profession and seeks to gather the widest range of views possible.

Responses are sought from firms and members who feel that the cost of regulation is too high, or, for example, those who feel that the cost of regulation is not an issue.

All responses to the survey are anonymous, although at the end of the survey there is an opportunity to provide contact details in order to participate in the next stage of the investigation.
