A wide-ranging study has revealed the national and regional average dentist fees across the UK.
The news comes after dental website Dentistry.co.uk teamed up with industry-leading Practice Plan to conduct a comprehensive survey, which revealed that £17.23 was the national average UDA rate for dentist fees in England and Wales in 2015.
The study found that £40 was the national average fee for a routine private examination, whilst £91 was the average hourly rate for a hygiene visit.
Dentistry and Practice Plan’s joint report also probed the orthodontic profession, discovering that £2,285 was the national average fee for short-term orthodontics per arch, and £2,420 was the average price for fixed-appliance orthodontic treatment per arch.
The report also highlighted significant regional price differences in fees for at-home tooth whitening services charged by GDC-registered dental professionals.
North West England was found to be the cheapest region across the UK, with an average price of £230, while London and South East England was the most expensive, at an average of £333.
