Countdown begins to national insurance cut

A new measure is on the way that will cut the employment costs of dental practices by hundreds of pounds from April 2014.

The introduction of the new Employment Allowance will see up to 1.25 million employers benefit from an annual £2,000 reduction in their Class 1 secondary national insurance contributions (NICs).

More than 90 per cent of those benefiting will be smaller businesses, employing fewer than 250 people, and around 450,000 businesses will be taken out of paying Class 1 secondary NICs altogether.

HM Revenue & Customs will be issuing more detailed information about the allowance nearer the time of its implementation but if you would like further information on how it will affect you and your practice – and be sure that you don’t miss out on a £2,000 cut in your costs – please contact us.

Payroll issues can place a significant burden on employers that handle payroll issues in-house and more and more dental practices and other businesses are finding outsourcing their payroll a cost-effective alternative that also frees up internal time and resources for other priorities.
