Forensic accountant at Milsted Langdon shares his financial expertise with family lawyers

An award-winning forensic accountant from Milsted Langdon has taken part in a talk aimed at helping family lawyers with the financial issues surrounding divorce and separation.

Roger Isaacs, Forensic Partner at the firm and a well-established expert witness, addressed members of the profession at the Bristol Resolution Conference, entitled “Traps and Pitfalls in Financial Cases” on Friday, 11 November 2016.

Organised by the Bristol family law association, Resolution, the event saw some of the region’s top solicitors and barristers meet to discuss topical pertinent issues for them and their clients.

Roger Isaacs gave a presentation and was on hand to join a panel chaired by District Judge Exton to share his expertise on a wide range of financial issues surrounding divorce and separation and to answer questions from delegates using his in-depth knowledge of the subject.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Roger said: “I am really looking forward to the event and am honoured to be sharing a platform with some of the finest and most respected family law professionals in the region.

“The financial aspects of a divorce or separation are often one of the most pressing issues for couples, alongside child and property disputes.

“Having the assistance of a forensic accountant who can critically assess each party’s financial affairs can make a massive difference and I am hoping to highlight some of the traps and pitfalls that await the unwary at this upcoming event.”

Earlier this year Roger was recognised as Lawyer Monthly’s Accountants’ Expert Witness of the Year 2016 for his work assisting the legal profession with complex financial matters, this followed on from the firm’s Tolley’s Taxation Best Tax Practice in a Regional Firm Award 2016 win.
