Charities and not-for-profit organisations are being invited to find out more about the issues affecting their sector at a free seminar being organised by South West-based chartered accountancy firm Milsted Langdon.
The event takes place at the firm’s offices at Winchester House, Deane Gate Avenue, Taunton, TA1 2UH, on Thursday, 5 December.
Speakers will include Milsted Langdon’s charities partner, Gill Freeman, who will provide a technical update, including the consultation on the revised Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP), while Steve Horton, who heads sister company Milsted Langdon Financial Services, will be talking about trustee investment responsibilities, including compliance with CC14.
The seminar will also hear from James England, of Standard Life Wealth, on the subject of reducing investment volatility and investing to meet specific goals.
Registration takes place at 9.30am for a 10am start, with the event concluding with a sandwich lunch at 1pm.
Gill Freeman said: “This is a valuable opportunity for charity trustees to find out more about some of the key issues affecting the not-for-profit sector and speak to experts in this field.
“We look forward to seeing as many people as possible for what promises to be a useful and informative seminar.”
Anyone wishing to attend should contact Lynne Brown at email@example.com or on 01823 445566, by Friday, 29 November. Lynne can also be contacted with any queries about the seminar.
