HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is offering a new service that enables employers to pay their PAYE liability by Direct Debit (DD).
The DD will collect your PAYE and NIC payment based on the amount contained within the following submissions:
Full Payment Submission (FPS), Apprentice Levy and Employer Payment Submission (EPS)
To use this facility the DD needs to be set up at least 6 working days before the payment is due. As an example, to pay your Month 12 liability for 2022-23 tax year the DD should be set up by April 12 2023 to make sure monies are collected by April 22 2023.
Milsted Langdon is not able to set up the Direct Debit function with HMRC for clients, even if we act as your payroll agent or have access to your online PAYE account.
You, as the employer, will need to login to your HMRC Business Tax Account and set up Updates on PAYE Direct Debits.
