According to figures by the Welsh Assembly, Wales is becoming an increasingly popular destination for short breaks at holiday parks.
The number of overnight trips taken in Wales over the first three months of the year totalled around 1.62 million; a seven per cent increase on the same time the previous year.
This upturn coincides with a wider developing interest in domestic holidays as Brits look to give up the stresses that come with heading abroad.
The figures show that holiday-makers heading to Wales are spending more money than ever before on their breaks, opting to stay at caravan sites, and so-called ‘glamping’ camp sites.
In particular, the statistics show that one of the biggest increases in popularity has been for holiday parks in mid-Wales, giving visitors the chance to explore the Snowdonia National Park.
