In our latest “Meet the Expert” feature, Dulith Wanigasekera, General Practice Manager based in our Bristol office, talks about his role here at Milsted Langdon and how technology is used on a day-to-day basis, as well as exploring Bristol’s many excellent pubs!
Tell us about your role
My time is split between working with clients on their statutory audits and accounts preparation, and providing advice on reporting and compliance requirements they may have. Alongside this I also manage the training process for new starters and existing staff as well as helping to steer the firm’s accounts and audit processes.
The other key part of my role is managing a team of talented staff members that make up the Bristol General Practice Department, ensuring that they have the support required to help both themselves and the firm develop and thrive.
How do you use technology in finance?
Technology and finance are two areas that have developed a strong relationship with each other over the last few years.
Within my role as an audit manager at Milsted Langdon, we are constantly evaluating the use of new software solutions that keep us not only compliant but also able to streamline our processes so that we can deliver a more effective and efficient service to our clients.
One area that we have seen technology bridge the gap of requirement is keeping us in close contact with our clients that we work with remotely. Since the pandemic, a lot of our clients have moved to remote working, so we have used technology to adapt to this change whilst keeping our service as attentive and responsive as it always has been.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies?
Outside of work, I keep myself busy through reading, artwork, swimming and playing games. I also enjoy exploring Bristol’s many excellent pubs – the city is really great for its diversity in culture, food and music.
