Meet the expert – A quick Q&A with Hannah Crocker

As part of our ongoing series of Q&As with our team, we have looked into the role that Hannah Crocker, our Cloud Accounting Lead Adviser, plays within the firm.

Having joined our Business Innovation (BI) team four years ago, she continues to advice our clients on the latest technological advances.

What is your job role here at ML?

I am the Cloud Accounting Lead Adviser, which means I specialise in all things relating to Cloud software.

This focusses on identifying software solutions for clients, supporting them through the migration process and providing training both to clients and internally to staff at Milsted Langdon.

As part of the BI Team I help to implement efficiencies for clients to allow them to improve their businesses.

What do you enjoy the most within your role?

I most enjoy talking to clients and seeing the benefits that come from supporting their use of Cloud Accounting software and apps.

For a conversion to Cloud software, I get to spend a lot of time getting to know clients, which helps me to tailor training to their needs.

Tell us what apps clients use and what you would recommend

Many clients now use apps to automate data entry, so Dext Prepare and Hubdoc are very popular.

After reducing inputting time, I would then recommend clients look at how fast they get paid, by adding a ‘pay now’ to their Xero/QuickBooks invoice.

This allows customers to pay instantly through the likes of Stripe/PayPal, which helps to improve our clients’ cashflow.

What does the delay of MTD for ITSA mean for clients?

With the delay to April 2026, it has meant clients are feeling less pressure to move onto digital software. However, I do think this is a mistake to look at it as something they are being forced to do…. it’s an opportunity for them to be more proactive with their finances, hopefully saving them time, and meaning they aren’t looking for records last minute. With the time-saving cloud software creates it’s a clear and easy choice in my eyes.

What are your top tips for clients to improve efficiencies in their business?

Review your processes and look for places you can use apps to save time and improve procedures.

Are you involved in any other initiatives within ML?

I am proud to also be part of the ESG Team which brings together colleagues from across the firm to explore how the firm are contributing to Environmental, Social and Governance issues, as well as working together to identify areas where we can improve. We have recently applied for an ESG Accreditation in recognition of the good practice that takes place throughout Milsted Langdon.
