Award-winning South West-based chartered accountancy firm Milsted Langdon has invited representatives from sectors such as civilian aerospace, construction and engineering to air their views on the economy at the latest in its series of successful Business Clubs.
The event, which is modelled on the Bank of England’s regional Business Panels, took place at Berwick Lodge in Bristol and was hosted by Milsted Langdon consultant economist Kevin Butler, who is a former Bank of England agent for the South West.
Issues discussed during the dinner included the economic recovery, including reference to the recent debt impasse between Democrats and Republicans in the US which led to that country’s government shutting down.
Guests were also invited to give reports on the state of trade within their respective sectors, with mixed views expressed on the strength of the UK’s economic recovery.
Commenting on the event, Kevin said: “Our Business Clubs have continued to grow in popularity and this one was no exception. I would like to thank everyone who attended and took part in what proved to be a highly interesting evening.
“We aim to provide an environment in which business leaders from different sectors can share the issues affecting them and speak to the expert team here at Milsted Langdon.”
