Milsted Langdon’s popular annual golf challenge has been hailed as another huge success.
Now in its fourth year, the challenge consists of round-robin matches held over three days throughout the summer, culminating in finals days at Bristol Golf Club and Yeovil Golf Club at which the winners are presented with their prizes.
This year’s Bristol finals day took place on 26 September at Bristol Golf Club, with Nathan Guest and Dan Wright of law firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards being crowned the winners.
They beat runners-up Jeremy Parrott and David Ambrose of investment management firm Brewin Dolphin by just one point. Third place went to a team consisting of Milsted Langdon partner Nigel Fry and David O’Hare of Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking.
The day was rounded off with a dinner at the golf club, attended by 50 guests. A game of ‘heads and tails’ raised £265 for Dreams and Wishes, a charity dedicated to helping seriously ill children by making their dreams come true. Anthony Hanley, of Premium Credit, and Andy Rowsell, of Barclays Wealth Management, who played in the tournament, are both members of the charity’s board and talked about its work at the dinner.
Commenting on the event, Nigel Fry said: “The golf challenge is now in its fourth year, with each year being more successful than the last. We are delighted that so many people took part and grateful to everyone who helped raise money for such a worthy cause.
“This year, we also had a selection of local female professionals come along to spend an hour with a professional player, play the par 3 course and then join us for dinner. This was really well received.”
The Yeovil finals day will take place at Yeovil Golf Club on 17 October.
