Milsted Langdon introduces sabbatical opportunities for staff

Award-winning South West-based chartered accountancy firm Milsted Langdon has further demonstrated its commitment to its staff by introducing a sabbatical scheme.

Milsted Langdon, which has offices in Taunton, Bristol, Yeovil and Bath, recently carried out a survey of its staff to gauge their feedback on the firm and invite suggestions for what they would like to see from their employer.

As a result, the firm has been trying to implement some of the ideas put forward, including a flexible benefits package and a mini-sabbatical opportunity.

Under the sabbatical scheme, staff who have completed at least three years’ service with Milsted Langdon are entitled to take a one-month, unpaid holiday in addition to their standard holiday allowance.

Jonathan Langdon, chairman and HR partner at Milsted Langdon, said: “We believe it is important to give our staff a voice within the firm and, as such, actively encourage feedback from our employees, including ideas on what they would like to see from us, their employer.

“The introduction of the mini-sabbatical opportunity comes as a direct result of a recent staff survey and will enable employees who meet the criteria to do things such as take that big holiday they have always dreamed of, spend more time with their families or, as one member of staff did, use it to go travelling throughout East Asia.”
