Milsted Langdon supports staff member pedalling to Paris for Bristol’s hospitals

One of Bristol’s leading accountancy practices, Milsted Langdon, has pledged its support to its Head Receptionist, Jackie Berry, as she begins training for this year’s Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge.

This is the fifth year in a row that Above and Beyond – a charity set up to improve patient care at Bristol’s city centre hospitals – has hosted the challenge, which has raised thousands of pounds to date.

This year the organisers have set a target of raising £150,000 during the ride, which Jackie hopes to contribute more than £2,500 through her participation in the challenge.

With the support of her friends, colleagues and the whole of Milsted Langdon behind her she has started her preparation for the event, which begins on Wednesday 11 September.

The ride, which she will complete in a specially branded Milsted Langdon t-shirt, will see her cycle more than 470km alongside a number of other riders from across the UK.

Speaking about her participation in the event, Jackie said: “I am really looking forward to taking part in the Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge and can’t thank Milsted Langdon and my colleagues enough for the support they have shown so far.

“Above and Beyond do fantastic work and have helped to fund lots of projects in the local healthcare system, from which all residents of Bristol can benefit.”

The money she will help to raise will go towards the 11 hospitals around Bristol allowing them to improve the patient environment, fund research and help with staff training and development.

Andrew Jordan, General Practice Partner at Milsted Langdon’s Bristol Office, said: “We are really proud of Jackie for taking on this challenge. It is no small feat to cycle so far in just four days. Jackie has already raised over £4000 for local charities which is a fantastic achievement and the whole firm are rooting for her.”
