Following recent success at the national Taxation Awards, Milsted Langdon has just concluded its own awards sponsorship programme by visiting three Taunton schools in just two days.
Audit and business services partner, Nigel Fry, was a recent guest at Queens College Speech Day, and presented student Rohini Sarker with the Milsted Langdon GCSE Business Student Award.
Pete Vicary, Head of Business, Economics, Politics and Accounting, said: “Scholarship student Rohini was selected for the prize based on her outstanding mock exam results and her high levels of interest and commitment to this complex subject. We congratulate her on her achievement. She will achieve high A level grades and hopes to attend university.”
Whilst Nigel was occupied on the other side of town, tax partner Simon Denton handed Ryosuke Nagano the Milsted Langdon Prize for Contributions to Economics & Business Studies Award trophy at Taunton School’s Commemoration Day.
Tutor Mr Abell said: “Ryosuke been an exemplary student since he joined us from Taunton International School two years ago. He never misses a deadline and the standard of his work – and his English – have steadily improved. Ryusoke has been a great asset to Taunton School and was a key member of the Young Enterprise team. We will miss this ‘top, top’ young man when he moves abroad to study.”
The final award – for Milsted Langdon Business Studies Student of the Year – went to student Joe Buttery, who received this accolade from insolvency partner Tim Close at the Kings College prize-giving ceremony the following day.
The Head of Business Education, Mrs Gregory said: “Joe received the award because he has been a superb student throughout his A level Business Studies. He is determined, conscientious and a creative problem solver. Joe strives to overcome challenges and writes exceptional work that inspires his peers. He is an exemplar.”
Each winner received a specially-commissioned Milsted Langdon trophy and a £100 Waterstones voucher.
Nigel Fry commented: “Milsted Langdon has developed successful relationships with local schools and colleges over many years.
“We are passionate about encouraging tomorrow’s business and entrepreneurial talent. We are delighted to help play our part in this by rewarding high achievers like Rohini, Ryosuke and Joe, who were all very deserving winners. ”
