New Tax Partner joins our Bristol office

A tax specialist with over 30 years’ experience has joined our tax team in Bristol as a Partner.

Robert Brown joins our practice from a role in industry, where he was Group CFO for the last five years.

Prior to that, Robert spent most of his career in large accountancy firms in Bristol, including BDO, RSM and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advised businesses and individuals on tax compliance and mitigating liabilities through careful tax planning.

Robert’s areas of expertise include private client work, such as Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax planning and corporate tax matters, such as R&D tax credits, Patent Box, property matters and transactions, including succession planning for owner-managed businesses and private companies. He also assists with compliance and tax planning for professional partnerships.

Commenting on his appointment, Robert said: “Milsted Langdon has a strong reputation for the quality of its work and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the tax team, as well as the wider teams that I’ll be working alongside.

“Although there have been severe challenges for businesses of late, I’m confident there are also opportunities to help businesses and individuals to thrive in these circumstances.”

Tim Close, our Chairman at Milsted Langdon, said: “Despite it being a challenging time in the world of work and indeed tax, with the uncertainties of the economic recovery from COVID-19 and Brexit – we continue to see investment and a strong demand for pragmatic advisory services.

“We are very pleased that Robert has become part of the team and we look forward to introducing him to our clients in Bristol and the wider region.”
