Tell us about your experience
I began my career self-funding my AAT whilst working in hospitality, before moving to a small Wells-based firm in 2015, achieving my ACA in 2020.
In 2022, I joined the Bristol office of Milsted Langdon, taking a step up into a mid-tier firm, and have since moved to the Bath office as a General Practice manager where I work with a portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
My day-to-day work covers the filing of company accounts and corporation tax return, as well as business advisory with a focus on tax minimisation and corporate structure. It’s the best feeling to know that you’re making a real difference with the companies you work with.
What one key piece of advice would you share
Structuring businesses to be efficient both commercially and from a tax perspective is complicated and takes planning. The sooner we get involved, the bigger the impact we can have but all too often we’re engaged after the fact and substantial benefits can be lost.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
I’m an American Football fanatic. I’ve attended about 12 games in the UK, 2 in Michigan, and the NFL Draft in 2024, getting on CBS News in the process! I have run a podcast about the Detroit Lions for the last 5 years, with friends from around the UK.
