Milsted Langdon was proud to sponsor the TBE South West Charity Conference and Expo at Bath Racecourse, as the event marked its eighth consecutive year bringing together charities, businesses and not-for-profit organisations from across the UK.

This year’s theme, “Rebuilding Trust, Resilience and Relevance: The Future of Charity in a Changing World” set the tone for a full day of insight, practical conversation and peer connection.

The event on 11June, enjoyed a programme designed to address the challenges shaping the sector and explore what the path forward looks like.

Milsted Langdon Partner Ian Lloyd joined the morning breakfast panel, where sector leaders examined the themes of resilience and trust from both a financial and governance perspective.

Ian said: “The charity sector is navigating real and sustained pressure. This includes challenges with funding, public confidence and on the demands placed on boards and leadership teams.

“What was encouraging about the conversation at this year’s conference was the candour about those challenges and the genuine appetite to tackle them head on.

Events like this matter precisely because they create space for those conversations to happen.”

Later in the day, Emily Mitchell, Senior General Practice Manager, led a seminar on Building Strong Boards, exploring what effective governance looks like in practice and how charities can develop the leadership capacity they need to thrive.

The event attracted delegates from a wide range of charities and not-for-profit organisations and the Milsted Langdon team used the day to meet with peers, engage with clients and demonstrate the depth of their work with the charity sector across the South West and beyond.

For those who were unable to attend this year, the conference is expected to return in 2027. To find out more about Milsted Langdon’s services for the charity and not-for-profit sector, get in touch with our team.
