Celebrating Roger Isaacs – Our Practice Leader of the Year
We are incredibly proud to share that our colleague, Roger Isaacs, has been named Practice Leader of the Year at the Accounting Excellence Awards — the most prestigious accolade in our profession.
This national recognition honours Roger’s exceptional work supporting more than 500 subpostmasters and subpostmistresses affected by the Post Office Horizon IT scandal.
His leadership and expertise have helped secure millions of pounds in compensation for those who were wronged, and we are delighted to see his impact acknowledged at the highest level.
Roger leads our forensic accountancy team here at Milsted Langdon, and when the Horizon scandal unfolded, he immediately recognised the scale of the support required.
He recruited and led a team of twenty experienced forensic analysts dedicated exclusively to Horizon compensation cases, working closely with the law firms bringing claims on behalf of subpostmasters.
The judges praised Roger’s leadership and the significance of his work, stating: “This is an individual who led in a way that can demonstrate meaningful impact to a group of people who were wronged. This isn’t just accounting, it is life-changing, justice-providing work.”
Roger’s contribution to the profession extends far beyond the Horizon cases. He is one of the UK’s leading forensic accountants and expert witnesses, regularly appearing in the County Court, High Court, Magistrates Court, the International Court of Arbitration, the Employment Tribunal and the Lands Tribunal.
He also serves as the National Technical Director of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants (NIFA), lectures widely on forensic and valuation issues, and previously chaired the MGI Worldwide international accountancy network, where his introduction of a Shadow Youth Board has helped nurture the next generation of international accounting talent.
Reflecting on his award, Roger said:“Being chosen as the winner of this incredible accolade is really gratifying and is well-deserved recognition of my wonderful team.
“Supporting the subpostmasters and subpostmistresses has been a highlight of my career. I feel exceptionally fortunate to have been able to play a part in helping them achieve the best possible financial redress, even though nothing can fully compensate those most affected by the Horizon scandal.
“I would like to thank everyone at the Accounting Excellence Awards for raising the profile of our firm’s recent work and sharing our success with the profession.”
Roger was keen to emphasise that the award is not his alone. It reflects the commitment and hard work of the dedicated forensic team he assembled. This is a team whose determination and care have been vital in securing justice for clients.
“I can’t say enough how impressed I have been with the team’s amazing efforts and tenacity in getting the best outcomes for our clients,” he added.
Roger received the award at a ceremony held on 30 September at The Roundhouse in London, a fitting venue for such a significant celebration.
We are immensely proud of Roger and the contribution he continues to make to our firm, our clients and the wider profession.
