Meet the expert: Gemma Pavey

In our latest “Meet the expert” feature, Gemma Pavey, Business Innovation Manager, tells us about her previous experience, the importance of seeking advice and what keeps her busy outside of work.

Tell us about your experience

I started my journey at Milsted Langdon 11 years ago in general practice where I looked after accounts and audits for small and medium-sized clients.

I then moved over to Business Innovation in 2016 and my day-to-day tasks involved preparing statutory and management accounts, forecasting and advising on and implementing software systems and processes – specialising in cloud solutions.

Now, my role is a little more hybrid as I manage a portfolio of General Practice clients, as well as looking after ML’s Business Innovation and Cloud Champion teams. I enjoy providing our clients with the data and solutions they need to help their businesses succeed.

Any advice you would give to clients?

The first piece of advice that I always give any client is if you’re thinking about changing software then speak to us first!

It’s important to find a solution that is suitable for you and your business, and we can work alongside you to achieve this. Our team can help find the solution that fulfils all your requirements, assist in implementing it and then provide ongoing training and support.

Our experience has shown that involving ML early in the process helps to ensure you are making the best use of the technology available to you, that this technology works alongside your other systems and that it is implemented in a way which is not going to give you a headache further down the line.

Outside of work, what are your hobbies?

As a mum, you would typically find me taxiing my children to and from sporting activities. If I’m not doing that, I enjoy going to concerts, watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
