Ed Mole, Assistant Payroll Manager at Milsted Langdon, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Emerging Leader Award category at this year’s ABM Awards.

The awards recognise excellence across the payroll and bureau management profession. Judges praised the strength of this year’s entries, with Ed’s submission standing out as one of the best examples of emerging talent in the profession.

He will now take part in a formal interview with the judging panel, ahead of the final results being announced at the Bureau Management Conference on Monday 7 September 2026, held at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Ed supports the wider payroll function at Milsted Langdon, providing compliance and advisory assistance to the firm’s payroll clients, managing a dedicated team and providing support across the firm on payroll matters.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Ed Mole said: “I’m really proud to have been shortlisted for this award. Payroll can be a demanding profession and I get a lot of satisfaction from solving problems for clients and getting the detail right on complex projects, so it means a great deal to have that recognised.

“We are growing and developing an exceptional team of payroll experts at Milsted Langdon and I am glad to be playing a part in our success.”

Since joining the firm, Ed has completed AAT levels 2 and 3 alongside the CIPP Advanced Payroll Technician qualification and is now studying towards his level 4 AAT qualifications.

Martin Johnson, General Practice Partner at Milsted Langdon, said: “Ed’s shortlisting for the Emerging Leader Award is thoroughly deserved. He has shown real dedication to the team and clients he supports, and this recognition reflects brilliantly on him and the wider payroll team.”
