Thousands of pounds have been raised at the Taunton Round Table Speaker Evening, which was once again sponsored by our firm.
This year’s popular black-tie event held at Taunton School has helped to raise £15,000 for local charity, Taunton East Development Trust.
The Trust makes a positive impact on the daily lives and futures of residents and its volunteers by improving self-respect and self-confidence, enhancing their quality of life and providing the opportunity to acquire life and work skills.
Held on Friday 27 October, the event drew hundreds of guests, who came to listen to the keynote speaker Simon Weston CBE.
Those who attended were riveted by Simon’s talk covering his experiences as a Falklands War veteran, speaking about how he had overcome serious injuries and rebuilt himself, as well as sharing some fascinating stories.
Taunton Round Table also held its popular auction, which included some interesting lots that were kindly donated by several businesses and organisations across the South West.
As well as sponsoring the event, we were proud to have several of our Partners attend the evening, including Tim Close, Nigel Fry, Rob Chedzoy and Rachel Hotham.
Rob Chedzoy, Tax Partner at our Taunton office, commented on the event’s success, stating, “It’s truly inspiring to see the local community come together to support such a worthy cause.
“Our firm’s commitment to local community causes is part of our ethos, and we are delighted to contribute to the success of this event. The funds raised will have a tangible impact on improving the lives of individuals who rely on the Trust’s support.”
We have a proud track record of supporting charity events in Taunton and across the South West, including being a long-time sponsor of the Taunton Round Table speaker evening for the past 15 years.
